Mission Statement
The mission of the Allan Shivers Library and Museum is to provide facilities, materials, information, and services that support the diverse needs and requirements of our community, in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
The Allan Shivers Museum invites the public to step into the life, career, and accomplishments of Governor Allan Shivers to preserve, educate, and share his role in contributing to the history of Texas.
Enrollment for online GED test preparation classes is now open to 17-year-old and older adults who are interested in obtaining a High School Equivalency Certificate (GED). Classes are offered via text, phone, or email and as morning or evening instruction. For more information, call (409) 283-8757.
